Dealing with, and getting through, Disappointment

Hi sweet peas!!

So it’s been a while since I did a positivity post, so I thought today would be the day to do one.

So, as always I try to make these super relatable, so today I will be talking about dealing with and getting through disappointment.

So, disappointment. I think we all deal with disappointment every now and then to certain degrees. Yes, even that girl who seems to have it all sorted, even she feels this way. Disappointment can be brought on by many things. But mostly, its when someone, or yourself, lets you down.

What’s important to remember is that a) it’s ok and normal to feel this way, and b) it’s not the end of the world. During this year I have dealt with a lot of disappointing moments, and I have worked out a few ways of dealing with it:

A) Allow time. I know that sometimes we feel as though we need to be brave, but honestly, stuff that πŸ˜‰ Sometimes, it really is necessary to cry and express how you’re feeling. Bottling it up makes it a million times worse. I think its really important to be in touch with your emotions, and accept them. The only way to move forward healthily is to accept and deal with the now. So, if you need to cry, go for it! Crying can honestly make you feel a lot saner and better. It’s alright to be upset,Β and make sure you remember that.

B) Perspective. Put your disappointment into perspective. I love that saying “if it won’t matter in five years, don’t give it more than five minutes now”. Its ok to feel disappointed and to feel like something is really huge, but take a step back, and consider just how big it actually is. Even if it does feel huge now, in a day, or a week it really won’t. Give it it’s five minutes due , and then get on with life. πŸ™‚

C) Keep positive. I say this every time but honestlyΒ keeping positive Β is the way to go. Remember all the good things in life, and stick to them. Remember your family, your friends, your community, your blog πŸ™‚ Everyone has so much worth in their life, so don’t ever overlook or forget it πŸ™‚

So, hopefully I have enlightened you a bit to how to deal with disappointment. Maybe next time not everything is perfect, or in your favour, you’ll know how to deal with it. Just remember that everything will be ok, even if you don’t see it now, the good has yet to come πŸ™‚Β When I say there have been some disappointing moments this year, there have been many more amazing moments and they are the ones I rememberΒ πŸ™‚

Thank you all so much for giving me such a happy place to come to, and for making my day a bit brighter πŸ™‚ There have been so many times where maybe I was feeling a bit down, and I went on my blog only to find a huge smile on my face because of you lot πŸ™‚ You are all such talented people, and are capable of so much πŸ™‚

As always,

Until the next time,

Lui xx
