Styling Your Hair This Christmas|Day 02

Hey sweet peas! πŸ™‚

As you may know over the last year I have been gradually getting my hair cut shorter and shorter, to find the perfect length for me. I like having short enough hair that it is relatively easy care, that it doesn’t frizz, and that it isn’t a hassle to maintain. Only problem is finding ways of styling it! It truly is easier to find things to do with long hair; plaits, ponytails, buns etc. But as I have found, having shorter (because my hair isn’t short at all, just shorter haha!) doesn’t mean you can’t style your hair anymore! πŸ™‚

So these are my tools for styling my hair:

  1. A good hair brush. I used to have a lethal hair brush that felt as though it was ripping all my hair out! But I invested in a good hair brush (which wasn’t expensive by the way!), and got a rounder, bigger one. I love my hair brush so much, and you can use in when washing your hair in the shower, and when brushing it dry πŸ™‚ Sounds like an obvious tool, but it is important to get this one right!
  2. Bits and bobs for buns. I still love styling my hair into a bun for a more elegant look (me, elegant?) πŸ˜‰ I have a big clip that I use, either tying up my hair in a ponytail first, or just pumping it all in. Trust me it works with short hair!
  3. Pins and clips. For the stray short bits at the front sometimes it can be nice to clip them back (although feel free to leave them free, depending what you are doing!), but sometimes I find they just won’t go in my ponytail, so I need clips or pins.
  4. Curling and straitening irons. I barely ever use these but I must say that when I had my hair styled for an acting performance (sooo professional πŸ˜‰ ) I looked way older with straightened hair haha! And I love getting my hair put in waves or curls, which I did for my semi-formal, and potentially I might have a go at it for a wedding I am going to next February.

It can be hard to know what curling irons work best for what so asked me to share an awesome review they did on a huge amount of brands to find the best value for your money tools, for all sorts of styling. Obviously some tools work best for particular styling so they have chosen a couple of different irons for some different styles (some of which I had never heard of before, but they looked cool!). I can’t wait to put their review to practice! πŸ™‚ If you want to check it out click here. It is definitely worth a read! πŸ™‚ Plus it has some cool photos of how your hair will look with different machines πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed this post! I would love to hear (or hair?) if you have any suggestions for styling or short hair! Or even what you do with long hair! πŸ™‚ How are you styling your hair this Christmas?

I was just thinking about doing a hair styling post too haha. You could try some French plaits, they look so cute with short hair πŸ™‚

Oooh I get you! 2 years ago I decided I wanted a bob. I didn’t like it but wasn’t ready to admit itπŸ˜‚ I’ve been letting it grow now again. I find it easier to style when it’s a bit longer as when it was short I had like ONE wave and it looked really weird (I have straight hair). It was really hard to style and yeah! I’m definitely checking the post about curling irons out! xxx
