Christmas Traditions Collab|Day 16

Christmas Traditions Collab|Day 16

Hey sweet peas! šŸ™‚

Today I am talking about Christmas traditions from my homeland with Rosamae, Rosamae is one of my favourite bloggers, and I would 100% recommend you check out her blog for more posts (she’s a lot more organised than me haha!). šŸ™‚

As you all know I come from NZ, although I’m in Germany at the moment, and being in another country for Christmas has really defined what is unique to my country and family for Christmas šŸ™‚

  • The big day is 100% Christmas day. Christmas eve is for last minute shopping for food, and more chocolate, and wrapping up the presents we forgot, and mostly since its hot, my brother and I will just hang out watching TV or something šŸ˜€
  • Food: we always must have brandy snaps, pavlova, salmon, new potatoes… this is making me so hungry! I love that for Christmas we always have new veggies and the food is so summery because obviously its summer! šŸ™‚
  • I think in my family Christmas has a really laid back, relaxed feel to it, which I really love. It can be really stressful hosting and having to make food and tidy etc. but I love that on the day its super chill and relaxing šŸ™‚
  • Christmas tree! This year we got our tree on December 1st because I was leaving on the 3rd, and I wanted at least one night to sit in front of the tree with all the lights on šŸ™‚ It was a really fun time with my family, and I am so glad I got to see it before I left (because obviously it’ll be long gone by the time I get back!).

So yeah to me that’s a basic rundown of what Christmas traditionally is to me in my homeland of New Zealand šŸ™‚ I’ll be writing another post about Christmas in Germany because it honestly is so cool! šŸ™‚

Until next time,

Lui xx
