Life After School?

Life After School?

Hello everyone πŸ˜€

July marks the middle of the year, (and the middle of winter here!), which means six months until I am officially no longer a school student. That is pretty daunting, awesome, and surreal sentence for me to form, especially seeing as school is all I have known for the last 13 years. But lo and behold it has to happen sometime and here it is. In 2017 I wrote a post about making decisions about what I would do after school, and it surprises me how much the sentiment of that post has followed through to myself 18 months later! Even though I have done more research since then, and done so much more, the same conflicting ideas seem to be running around my head!

I’ve always thought it is pretty normal to go straight to university after school, and I 100% could see myself studying… at some point. As my friend said to me (about 10 minutes ago) university will always be there. But we’re young now. And we want to travel.

I am honestly split three ways, with two universities and travel all making their case to me. They’re all good options, and I guess I know that I will travel and I will study, but in what order? (And yes I know I have already done plenty enough travelling for a girl my age haha! But honestly, is there ever enough?)

I would honestly love to know what you did when you left school, or what you are planning to do, or if you have any advice! I think hearing from others is a great idea; although ultimately it needs to be what suits you best.

Bit of a different post, but all the same it does feel good to actually speak about it πŸ˜€

Until next time,

Lui xx

Honestly, do what makes you happy. I know that sounds broad but as you say study is something you can go back to but also with travel you want to make sure you get good deals and have enough money saved so you can have a great experience πŸ™‚ I studied for a year after school but I’m yet to travel outside of NZ and I’m 23 πŸ˜›

Thanks for the comment haha πŸ˜€ And yeah I agree – I think that’s solid advice πŸ™‚ and I mean why travel outside of NZ when there’s so much to see? πŸ˜‰ haha

I immediately went to college, as things just get more complicated and expensive here, and I really didn’t want to take my chances haha. I definitely do see the appeal in travelling first though and if that’s what you want to do, go for it!

I know what you mean! πŸ™‚ It’s a tricky business, but I guess whatever you do will lead to some great experiences πŸ™‚ thanks for commenting! πŸ˜€

I'd Love To Hear Your Thoughts!
