How is already September?? That’s mental! I swear this year is both incredibly fast, but also very slow! (Particularly fast when I have things due, anyway!) 😉
So how was my August?
August saw an increase of schoolwork stress as well as a new stress: applying for things for next year. And as I am considering a gap year amongst other things the big question is what to do with a gap year?? But also to keep my options open I have to apply to various tertiary institutes. Equalling: a big pile of applications to fill in for various dates! If this is you now or next year, my recommendation is not to procrastinate or put it off but just get it done! Don’t wait until you have a ton of schoolwork on top of it too haha 😀
In August I did a couple of Sunday road-trips to a few new places in the local region (Canterbury). My dad and I explored the Lees Valley, and surrounding area, which involved very narrow, windy, icy roads, but totally worth it once we got there! Plus at the Ohoka Pass we were surrounded by native New Zealand bush which was so beautiful (and smelt amazing haha!). The following weekend we went to Lake Coleridge (near Mt. Hutt) as a family, and then through Springfield via Porters Pass. If you are ever considering road trips in NZ I would 100% recommend this! Lake Coleridge was absolutely crazy beautiful! A massive lake with mountains at the other end leading into the main divide in the Southern Alps. So very cool! 😉
I was lucky enough to attend the NZ Film Festival with one of my closest friends and her sister (which involved getting lost in inner Christchurch in the rain and dark haha!), which was incredibly cool as it was held at the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch, which such a beautiful and awesome theatre! We felt super grown up, going to a film festival on a Friday night! 😉 We saw Juliet, Naked which I would 100% recommend (and coincidentally included no nudity) 😉 😛 It was really funny, and very enjoyable.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time strengthening friendships new and old, and got to hang out at one of my friends farms for the day, which was really fun as she has baby goats!!! I thought I was compeltely a sheep person (still am!) but goats are certainly one of my favourite animals now! Plus the company was pretty good 😉
How was everyone else’s August? What did you get up to? Was it summer or winter for you? Arguably it was a mixture here 😉
Until next time,
